Underground Photography

The granddaughter of the world famous Mandrake the Magician, Käla Mandrake is a native New Yorker who photographs the souls of women in rock n roll, and the sensuality of people in her life, in black and white.

In 2000, she began her own photography business providing for local musicians and performing artists, most of which were women. Käla's portraits have been seen in various galleries, venues and art festivals in New York. Staying true to her vision of the "underground," Käla has always sought out venues and galleries that are artist owned and operated, or are simply part of the New York underground scene. After going back to school, she began writing her first fiction book. In 2010, Käla Mandrake published her first photography book UNDERGROUND.
