The Art of Andrea Heimer
With subject matter ranging from silent film stars, to romantic good girls and erotic nymph-like hipsters, Andrea Heimer is a graphic artist, writer, and musician with a love of history and pop culture.
With subject matter ranging from silent film stars, to romantic good girls and erotic nymph-like hipsters, Andrea Heimer is a graphic artist, writer, and musician with a love of history and pop culture.
Based in the Pacfic Northwest, Andrea works in a variety of media depending on her current series such as silkscreen, acrylic, ink and watercolor. Many of her defined figures and portraits of women can at the same time contain a loose abstraction; comic book lines combined with painterly brush strokes. Her bold pop art inspired paintings conjure up the good old days of vintage 60s Seventeen Magazine, while at times her illustrations can contain hints of edginess and sexual tension. With words such as "covet," "decedence," and "pulp" to describe each series, her work is utterly female and very American.
You can view more of Andrea's work at www.andreaheimer.com and pick up some lovely prints while you are at it.
