The Guys You'll Meet on Earth, But Not in Heaven: Shut Up Already!

Donald Trump takes narcissism to new depths.

In 1946, the Baby Boom Generation began and lasted until 1964. As a post world war generation, many Baby Boomers grew up feeling special due to being parented by "America's Greatest Generation," and due to the enormous social, economic and political changes that occurred during their growing up years. Of course, feeling "Special" can be a positive and energizing sensation, but if a person is completely convinced that he  "Is Special," that means trouble for everyone around him. We call that kind of special---Narcissism.

Most Baby Boomers got their first description of narcissism from Carly Simon's lyrics in the hit song, "You're So Vain."

"You walked into the party like you were

walking on to a yacht.

Your hat strategically dipped below one

eye. Your scarf it was apricot.

You had one eye in the mirror as you

watched yourself gavotte.

And all the girls dreamed that they'd be

your partner, they'd be your partner

you're so vain"

[Carly Simon]

Donald Trump was born on June 14, 1946. His hair, not his hat, seems to dip over his entire forehead, and his mirror is the television screen where he can watch himself firing people, accusing presidents of lying and directing beauty pageants. With his wealth and fame a procession of beautiful babes have dreamed about becoming his partner, and several have succeeded. Yes---if Carly Simon had written "You're So Vain" in 2011, we'd definitely be thinking that it was all about The Donald."

Under the big umbrella of narcissism we usually see the negative qualities of grandiosity, arrogance and a lack of empathy for others. In other words, "It's all about me!" In order for a narcissist to continue to believe his own grandiose fantasies he must pursue success, power and beauty throughout his lifetime. In order to keep that wonderful reflection in the mirror shining back at him, a narcissist will use exaggerations and lies to convince everyone and himself how wonderful he is. And, if you don't believe him—he will blame you for being the stupid one.

So, how did "The Donald" make his journey to "You're So Vain?" He was born a "Fortunate Son," to a real estate tycoon who sent him off to a private military academy, and later to the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania. In school, "The Donald" was voted "Top Ladies Man," and upon graduation he went to work in his father's business and took over in 1971, re-naming it "Trump Organization." His dad later left $400 million to Donald and his family.

For the next 20 years, Trump zeroed in on Manhattan real estate and as he stated himself, "everything I touched turned to gold." Then, in the early 1990's his financial decisions caused his net worth of $1.7 billion to decline to $500 million. But, "The Donald" over time steadily rebuilt his fortune and recouped his losses.

During his leadership of the Trump Organization, at least 20 buildings, golf courses and casinos worldwide have been named after himself. Since 1977, he has paraded a succession of beautiful dates, supermodels and eventually wives in front of the camera including Ivana Trump (3 kids), Marla Maples (1 kid), and currently Melania Knauss of Slovenia (1 kid). Along the way, just to keep things interesting, "The Donald" bought the Miss Universe Organization and Pageant.

"The Donald" has been quoted as saying---

"You know, it really doesn't matter what the media writes as long as you've got a young & beautiful piece of ass."

Meanwhile, just to make sure that his health is protected, "The Donald" refused to shake hands with men & women, and had prospective female partners tested for HIV by his own doctor.

Like most arrogant and manipulative people, "The Donald" continuously airs his opinions about everything and passes it off as the facts of life. The Huffington Post has asked the question---

"When does Donald Trump Lie?"

They then answered their own question---

"Every time he opens his mouth."

His lifetime of lies include:

1. He violated anti-trust laws when purchasing stock and had to pay a $750,000 fine------caught.

2. He continuously accused President Obama of being born in another country-------check the facts man!

3. He then stated that no one who went to school with Obama saw him------many say they did!

4. He announced that South Korea doesn't pay us to station troops there----------they do!

5. Now he says he will announce if he is running for president on the finale of this season's Celebrity Apprentice---------the finale was taped in fall of 2010!

But, for all of us Baby Boomers (like me), "The Donald's" most despicable lie concerned his draft status during the Vietnam War. When asked why he wasn't drafted to go to Nam, "The Donald" stated, "I got lucky, I had a very high number in the draft lottery (356) and I remember sitting in Wharton College watching it."

Well, that day of the first National Draft Lottery turned out to be the most important day in many of our lives. One by one they picked each day of the year out of a box and if your birthday came up in the first 150 or so---Vietnam was your likely next stop. Everyone was glued to the television that night.

However, that night was in December of 1969!

"The Donald" graduated college 18 months prior to that in June of 1968. So, what's up with that?

The records have been checked. "The Donald" had a standard 2-S student deferment up until June of '68 before he graduated.

In July of 1968, he was reclassified 1A which meant –Good to Go! But, lo and behold instead of being drafted, the records show that "The Donald" was reclassified 1Y in October of 1968, which was the terminology at that time for a "Medical deferment" (now called 4F). What was the reason for the medical deferment?

Who knows? But it doesn't sound like it was luck that saved "The Donald."

And so, for all Baby Boomers who grew up with "The Donald" and for the younger American generations who watch him do his thing----I say—

Shut Up Already!
